Greek Island Luxury: Bill and Coo Mykonos
It was easy to get “lost” in the luxury at Bill and Coo Mykonos, where service meets style.
Bill and Coo Mykonos: Suites and Lounge
Bill and Coo Mykonos, with its whitewashed cubist exterior, is simple at first glance. Typical for a Cycladic island.
Stay to discover a boutique design hotel built around offering a perfect balance of luxury and privacy. The hotel is set on a slope, an incline that gives it fantastic infinity pool a fantastic view.
There are many hotels in this area of the island just outside of Mykonos Town. From Bill and Coo, it takes about 20 minutes to walk into town where much of the action is happening including nightlife and main sights like the museums and the Mykonos Windmills. A short walk gets you to Megali Ammos, the nearest beach.
Bill and Coo Suites and Lounge is the first Bill and Coo property on Mykonos. The second is a Bill and Coo Suites which is right on Agios Ioannis beach.
Bill and Coo Mykonos: Suites and Lounge Experience
At Bill and Coo, things seem so luxuriously simple. You can’t help but relax under a sunhat and admire much of what is surrounding you.
The outdoor spaces deserve to center around the gorgeous infinity pool. Dining spaces, extra-large loungers and soft relaxing corners meld perfectly in layers of whitewashed walls and a neutral color palette.
The check-in brings attention to that great view and a sampling of what’s in store at the restaurant. A hostess sat down with us by the pool with a tray of homemade drinks and savory Greek sushi.
The Room at Bill and Coo Suites and Lounge
Our suite offered a relaxing view of the Aegean and the balcony featured a comfy lounge bed to enjoy that view.
In total, the hotel has 30 suites including several with private pools. I liked wooden details, big sliding wardrobes and great use of space. Our room also had an iPad, standard for guests, which was Internet ready and featured a music app connected to the room’s speakers. We took advantage of that and loved getting ready to our favorite kind of music.
Our host also handed us a simple cell phone with a local number. If we wanted to, we could ring for a personal driver to transfer us at any time at any place on the island. I loved this knowing how there is a shortage of taxis on Mykonos and it tends to be a problem during the high season.
The bed was perfect. In Greece, you can’t go wrong with Coco-Mat, a luxury bedding company known for their quality mattresses. The glass paneled bath area featured a great waterfall shower and Molton & Brown toiletries.
Luxury Details
I must point out how the hotel goes above and beyond. The turn-down service included sweet treats from the kitchen and a report card which informed us about the best beaches to visit the next day based on the predicted weather.
By the pool, we were offered fresh cut fruit and an occasional spritz of facial mist spray for a quick cool down. In general, service was attentive and friendly.
Breakfast at Bill and Coo Mykonos
The a la carte breakfast was served by the pool. The menu included a good selection of eggs, pancakes and the like. Fresh Greek yogurt, flaky buttery croissants, toast and local jams were presented on the table as well.
The dining experience continued in the evening. Bill and Coo happens to be one of the top Greek island restaurants. As a food writer, I was delighted to try the chef’s specialties. Stay tuned on the evening dinner we experienced which married contemporary cooking techniques with local Mykonian ingredients. It was a gastronomical experience and one of the most memorable meals I have had to date during my travels in Greece.
Conclusion: Stay at Bill and Coo
There are many hotel choices on Mykonos, an island where luxury can be found everywhere. Bill and Coo’s definition of luxury is ideal for couples seeking a calm private getaway. A bit more hidden than other hotels outside of Mykonos town, the hotel has a chill vibe that combines easily with bespoke services. I liked the small size of the hotel too.
